A Missed abortion is when the fetus stops growing but a complete abortion has not yet occurred. A missed miscarriage is linked with a higher risk of miscarriage or spontaneous abortion. It is a condition in which all or part of the membranes and pregnancy products are retained in the uterus. It is also referred to as missed abortion.

The clinical manifestations of a missed miscarriage include vaginal bleeding, severe abdominal cramps, fever and lower back pain.
